When 50%+ of the access points at one site simultaneously have
Preseem QoE score <60, root cause is almost always a shared upstream
problem (backhaul, transit, DNS, DHCP) — not per-AP RF. This rule
emits one site-level insight that points the operator at the right
investigation layer instead of letting them chase per-AP RF
symptoms across many APs at the same site.
- Towerops.Recommendations.Rules.UpstreamDegradation — single query
pulls all matched Preseem APs grouped by site_id. Critical when
100% of APs at the site are degraded; warning otherwise. Lists
every degraded AP with its QoE score in metadata.
- Insight.@valid_types extended with upstream_degradation.
- LLM prompt hint tells the model to instruct the operator to
investigate upstream FIRST and to NOT chase per-AP RF symptoms.
- UI: indigo card with degraded/total AP counts, an "Investigate
upstream first" badge, and a clickable list of affected APs.
- Wired into RecommendationsRunWorker FIRST in the @rules list so
the upstream signal surfaces before per-AP RF rules.
Also fixes two flakes:
- device_live/show_test.exs is now async: false. It inserts to
InterfaceStat which is a TimescaleDB hypertable; concurrent inserts
deadlock on chunk-table locks under parallel SQL-sandbox tests
(ERROR 40P01 deadlock_detected in setup).
- Cleared an unused-variable warning in device_overheating_test.exs.
8 new tests for UpstreamDegradation.

Apply patterns from testingliveview.com — replace render_click/submit/change
event-name calls with element/form-targeted equivalents that validate the
actual DOM wiring, not just handler logic. Adds stable test selectors
(id="...") to interactive elements across 10 LiveView templates.
Surfaces (and fixes) several real issues that the bypass-style tests masked:
- Removes dead regenerate_token handler in agent_live/index.ex (no UI ever
triggered it) and its corresponding test.
- Removes dead refresh_topology test in network_map_live_test (event was
referenced only in the test — no handler, no button, no JS anywhere).
- Corrects "shows notification tab with add device modal" — modal lives on
the security tab; original test mounted ?tab=notifications and only
worked because direct event calls bypassed tab gating.
- Corrects form input shape mismatches in agent_live/index_test that the
handler's defensive case clauses had been masking.
- Expands setup data for org/settings_live_test (snmp_community,
default_agent_token_id, multi-org membership) so the gated buttons
actually render.
11 direct render_click/submit/change calls remain — all intentional,
documented server-side guard tests (tampered POSTs, race conditions,
defensive idempotent handlers).
Full LiveView test suite: 1300 tests, 0 failures.
Promoted pure presentation and utility helpers from `defp` to `def @doc false`
across ~20 LiveViews, Oban workers, and sync modules so they're reachable from
unit tests. Refactored several `cond` blocks into idiomatic function heads with
guards. Added ~250 new test cases in new files under test/towerops and
test/towerops_web, including DB-backed tests for CnMaestro.Sync and
AlertNotificationWorker, and removed dead LiveView tab components and
CapacityLive (no callers anywhere in lib/test).
Configured mix.exs test_coverage.ignore_modules to exclude vendored third-party
code (SnmpKit, protobuf-generated Towerops.Agent.*, Absinthe GraphQL types,
Phoenix HTML modules, Inspect protocol impls) from coverage calculations —
these are not our project code.
Coverage: 66.93% → 70.09%. Full suite: 10,127 tests, 0 failures.
- Wrap upsert_nodes in Repo.transaction so all upserts share one DB
connection, preventing pool exhaustion under load

## Summary
- Every device now automatically gets an ICMP ping check (`source_type: "auto_discovery"`) when created via `Monitoring.ensure_default_ping_check/1`
- When a device IP changes, the ping check host config is synced automatically
- Backfill migration inserts ICMP Ping checks for all existing devices that don't have one
- Fixes checkbox alignment in the Add Service Check modal (verify SSL / follow redirects)

Add CapacityInsightWorker (every 15 min) that generates critical/warning
insights when backhaul utilization exceeds 90%/75% and auto-resolves
when it drops below 70%.
Add capacity and utilization columns to the device ports tab with
set/clear capacity controls. Add organization-level /capacity page
with summary cards and per-site capacity table. Add capacity summary
card to site show page. Add Capacity link to nav menu.

Always broadcast from update_device_status/2 so the device index
LiveView refreshes even when status hasn't changed. Add a 15-second
tick timer to keep "Last Checked" timestamps fresh between polls.
Scope alert PubSub topics to organization for defense-in-depth.
Broadcast org-scoped PubSub events from Devices context mutations
(create, update, delete, status change). Convert DeviceLive.Index
from assigns to streams with flat row items. Subscribe on mount so
the device list updates automatically across browser tabs.
Fixed production bug where visiting the edit page for a device with no
SNMP discovery data would crash with "expected boolean on left-side of
'and', got: nil" error.
The mikrotik_device?/1 function was using && operator which returns nil
when device.snmp_device is nil, instead of returning false. The template
conditional on line 455 requires a proper boolean value.
Changed from:
device.snmp_device && (...)
To:
not is_nil(device.snmp_device) and (...)
This ensures the function always returns a boolean (true/false) instead
of potentially returning nil.
Added regression test to verify the page renders correctly when a device
has no SNMP discovery data yet.
