feat(path): hover-on-dot factor breakdown + tag fallback factors
The 18-hour forecast chart on /path now shows the same weighted-
criteria panel the /map popup builds when the user clicks a grid
cell. Hovering a dot fires a server roundtrip that fetches
Propagation.point_detail at the path's midpoint for that valid_time;
results are cached client-side so re-hovering is instant.

`Propagation.point_detail/4` now returns a `:profile_source` tag —
`:exact`, `{:fallback, fallback_valid_time}`, or `:unavailable` —
distinguishing real per-hour breakdowns (Rust pipeline writes a
profile file for every f00..f18 step) from rare cycle-miss fallbacks
where we approximate from a recent analysis profile. Stale comment
about "only f00 persists profiles" updated.

Map utilities (FACTOR_META, FACTOR_ORDER, factorBar,
factorExplanation, scoreTier, FactorMeta, ScoreTier) are now exported
from propagation_map_hook so the new path hook reuses the exact same
look + copy.

feat(skewt): hover crosshair + DB fallback for missing on-disk profiles
Two follow-ups to the earlier /skewt work:

1. Interactive crosshair (matches the SPC-viewer feel from the
   reference screenshot). Mousing over the diagram now drops a
   horizontal pressure cursor with a top-left readout box showing the
   pressure at the cursor's altitude (mb), the height in m and ft,
   and the linearly interpolated temperature and dewpoint at that
   level. Two coloured dots track the T and Td traces along the
   cursor so the user can read the spread visually.

   Mechanics: SkewtSvg.geometry/0 exposes the plot geometry (left,
   right, top, bottom, p_bottom, p_top, t_min, t_max, skew) as JSON;
   SkewtSvg emits an initially-hidden <g class="skewt-cursor"> layer.
   A new Skewt hook in assets/js/app.ts inverts pressure_y to recover
   pressure from the cursor's viewBox-Y, walks the (descending-pres-
   sorted) profile to interp T/Td/height, and updates the elements.
   The hook also handles mouseleave to hide the cursor and uses the
   SVG's screen-CTM so the math stays correct under any container
   aspect-ratio resize.

2. DB fallback for `available_valid_times`/`load_profile`. When the
   on-disk `ProfilesFile` has nothing for the location-and-window
   (true on dev, transient on prod between chain runs), SkewtLive
   now falls back to `HrrrProfileLookup.{list_valid_times_near,
   read_point_near}/3` against the `hrrr_profiles` Postgres table.
   The lookup uses the same ±0.07° spatial tolerance and the
   `(lat, lon, valid_time)` unique index that `Weather.find_nearest_
   hrrr/3` already relies on, so the queries are index-only.

   Returned shape matches `ProfilesFile.read_point/3` so SkewtLive
   reads from either source transparently. NaiveDateTime → UTC
   normalisation is centralised in `ensure_utc/1` so the LiveView
   sees `%DateTime{time_zone: "Etc/UTC"}` regardless of which side
   produced the value.

Tests: 6/6 new HrrrProfileLookupTest cases (list/limit/tolerance,
read nearest cell, nil for far cells, picks closest among matches),
3/3 SkewtLiveTest still green, 2,894 total Elixir tests + 221
properties green via mix test (one pre-existing flaky test in
admin/contact_edit_live re-runs clean). mix credo --strict clean.
mix assets.build clean.

feat(weather): add 700 mb T/Td and mid-layer lapse rate for cap diagnostics
850 mb T alone shows that warm air is present aloft but doesn't reveal
whether it's the textbook cap structure — a warm 700 mb above an EML
plume. The three new layers expose the canonical capping diagnostics
visually:

  * T @ 700 mb — ≥10 °C is the southern Plains "moderate cap" threshold
  * Td @ 700 mb — wide T-Td depression at 700 mb signals the EML plume
  * Lapse 850→700 — steep mid-layer lapse rate (≥7 °C/km) over a moist
    boundary layer is the cap mechanism itself

All three derive purely from the existing pressure-level profile (Rust
already fetches up through 700 mb), so no Rust pipeline changes needed.

fix(weather): accept Rust profile shape in SoundingParams + WeatherLayers
The Rust f01..f18 pipeline writes ProfilesFile cells, and the Rust
hrrr_points worker writes hrrr_profiles rows, with profile entries
keyed "pres_mb" / "hght_m" / "tmpc" / "dwpc" (string keys pre-
atomization; atom keys post-ProfilesFile.read). Elixir's
SoundingParams.derive and WeatherLayers.sort_profile filtered on
"pres" / "hght" — so every derived field returned nil for any
Rust-provided profile.

Visible symptoms on /weather: N-gradient, Refractivity, T @ 850mb,
Td @ 850mb, Lapse Rate, Inversion, Inv. Base all rendered no overlay.
For per-contact analysis, min_refractivity_gradient from the Rust
HRRR point worker's rows silently dropped.

- SoundingParams.normalize_profile_entry/1: single-source normalizer
  accepting legacy, Rust-string, and Rust-atom shapes; returns the
  canonical "pres"/"hght"/"tmpc"/"dwpc"/"drct"/"sknt" shape.
- SoundingParams.derive/1 and WeatherLayers.sort_profile/1 both run
  every entry through it before the rest of the existing logic.
- Weather.build_grid_cache_row/4 now falls back to native_min_gradient
  when SoundingParams can't derive one (surface-only profiles).

Also:
- Default /weather overlay changed to Temperature (LiveView assign +
  JS fallback in the hook's dataset default) per user request.

feat(eme): 3D WebGL Earth-Moon globe with lazy-loaded Three.js
Replaces the SVG schematic on /eme with a textured WebGL scene: NASA
Blue Marble Earth, real-size Moon, outbound beam, dashed return ray
to the sub-lunar point, and a red shading on the anti-moon hemisphere
that marks who can't see the Moon (outside the bounce footprint).

Three.js (~680 kB) now lives in its own chunk; esbuild --splitting
keeps it out of the main bundle so it only loads when a user hits
/eme. Main app.js drops from 1.6 MB to 922 kB.

Also swaps the Elevation/SNR rows so the badge comes before the number.

perf(wire)+ts: pack scores as flat tuples, bump ProfilesFile gzip, tighten TS types
**Wire format — /map scores payload.** Every `update_scores` /
`preload_forecast` / `data-scores` embed previously shipped each
point as `{"lat":X,"lon":Y,"score":Z}`. At 95k cells in full CONUS
that's ~36 bytes/point × 95k = 3.4 MB of JSON, ~50% of it repeating
the three key names. Packing as `[lat, lon, score]` tuples drops
per-point overhead to ~19 bytes → ~1.8 MB on the wire, ~45% smaller.
New `Propagation.pack_scores/1` is used at every push_event +
initial_scores_json boundary; internal Elixir still uses the
`%{lat, lon, score}` map so no other callers change.

JS hook: `ScorePoint` becomes `[number, number, number]`, the
`renderScores` loop destructures to positional args. Regression
test in map_live_test updated to match the new shape.

**ProfilesFile compression.** Rust writer was at gzip level 6
(default). Files are write-once-per-forecast-hour but read by
every pod mount + point_detail click. Bumped to level 9 (best):
~30% slower encode (hidden by spawn_blocking — not on user path),
~5–10% smaller on semi-structured MessagePack bodies. No reader
changes needed — same gzip stream.

**TypeScript strictness.**
- `app.ts`: replace `({detail}: any)` on phx:live_reload:attached
  with a CustomEvent<Reloader> shape naming only the API we touch.
- `weather_map_hook.ts`: drop the `(this as any)._map` pair by
  declaring a `GridLayerWithMap = L.GridLayer & { _map: L.Map }`
  intersection on the overlay's createTile `this` parameter.
- `global.d.ts`: replace `liveSocket: any` / `liveReloader: any`
  with focused LiveSocketLike / LiveReloaderLike shapes that name
  only the devtools-visible API.

No more `any` in the codebase (verified via rg).

fix(weather): anchor timeline offsets to the Now slot, not wall-clock
Same bug as the propagation map had in 9db9e6a. When wall-clock is
past :30, the slot after Now rounded to '0h' and read as a duplicate
'Now' label. Anchor the per-slot offset math to the Now slot's own
time so labels always read '-1h / Now / +1h / +2h' regardless of
where inside the hour the user loaded the page.

fix(map): anchor timeline offsets to the Now slot, not wall-clock
When wall-clock is past :30, the hour *after* Now rounded to "0h" and
the Now slot kept its "Now" tag — two adjacent buttons both reading
as the current hour. Anchor the offset math to the Now slot itself so
the label sequence reads "-1h / Now / +1h / +2h" regardless of where
inside the hour the user loaded the page.

fix(propagation): chain survives permanent step failures
Telemetry showed ~66 PropagationGridWorker exceptions per 6h with
55 ArgumentErrors and 11 TimeoutErrors, producing ~13 discarded
chain steps. Each discard broke the chain: subsequent forecast
hours were never enqueued, leaving the score store with huge gaps
(e.g. at 14:11 UTC the earliest available forecast was 18:00,
because f00-f05 all failed somewhere upstream and nothing ran
after them).

Three changes:

1. PropagationGridWorker: on the final attempt, still enqueue
   fh+1 even when this step failed. Oban discards the current
   job normally — but the rest of the chain keeps running, so
   one bad hour doesn't take out the remaining 12-18. The
   rescue is factored into a tested public helper.

2. HrrrClient.parse_idx: skip malformed idx lines instead of
   raising. NOAA S3 occasionally serves an HTML error page as
   the idx body, and the old strict String.to_integer path
   raised ArgumentError on the first non-numeric line and took
   down the chain step. This is the root cause of the 55
   ArgumentErrors.

3. JS renderTimeline: when no forecast hour is at-or-before
   wall-clock (all times are future — the gap scenario the
   fixes above are designed to prevent), stop labeling the
   earliest future slot "Now". Lets the user see honest
   "+Nh" offsets instead of a lie on the pill.

feat(map): shareable URL params for view/band/time
The main map page now reads band, selected time, and map
center/zoom from URL params and updates the URL as the user pans,
zooms, picks a band, or scrubs the timeline. Pan/zoom use
push_patch replace-mode so browser history isn't spammed, while
band and time changes push fresh entries.

Also fix the 'Up to date · just now ago' pipeline chip — 'just
now' already reads as an instant so the trailing 'ago' is
redundant. Any older duration keeps it.

fix(map-timeline): never label a future forecast hour as 'Now'
Both the Elixir initial-cursor pick and the JS timeline renderer
used nearest-by-absolute-distance, so any wall-clock time past
:30 snapped the 'Now' label onto the next top-of-hour forecast —
up to ~30 min in the future. Switch to the latest valid_time at
or before wall-clock, with a fallback to the earliest time when
every slot is future (shouldn't happen for HRRR, safe default).

feat(format): miles-primary distance formatting sitewide
Add Microwaveprop.Format.distance_km/1 and a matching formatDistanceKm
helper for the JS side. Both emit "X mi (Y km)" with one decimal under
10 mi and whole numbers above.

Replace the ad-hoc format_dist/format_km_mi helpers with the shared
formatter and update every user-facing distance render: contact
detail, contacts index column, user profile contact/involving tables,
path finder summary + sounding list, contacts map line popups, beacon
coverage tooltip, and propagation map range estimate + rain scatter
cell popup.

feat(contact): loading spinners, callsign-aware summaries, axis callsigns
Three improvements to the contact detail page:

* Track async hydration per source in `hydration_pending` so the
  Terrain / Soundings / Atmospheric Profile sections render a loading
  spinner while their task is in-flight instead of briefly flashing
  "no data available" before the payload arrives.
* Propagation analysis summary now names the origin station by
  callsign ("Path is terrain-obstructed at N mi from W5XD") instead
  of the generic "station 1" placeholder.
* Elevation profile chart labels the 0-mi and max-mi ticks with the
  matching callsign so it's obvious which end of the profile is
  which station.

feat(map): scale propagation ranges with antenna height
Antenna height now drives typical/extended/exceptional range estimates
and viewshed max range via a sqrt(h_m/10) factor clamped to [0.6, 2.0].
Baseline 33 ft matches the existing defaults. Changing the height input
now pushes update_band_info and refreshes the clicked point's detail
panel plus viewshed so the range-estimate line and coverage shape track
the user's actual station height.

fix(maps): same reconnect/visibility fix for rover and weather hooks
rover_map_hook and weather_map_hook share the same viewport-scoped
data flow as the propagation map — they hit the same blank-tile bug
after tab hide or socket reconnect. Add reconnected() + visibilitychange
handlers and document the requirement in CLAUDE.md so future hooks that
push map_bounds don't regress.

fix(map): refresh overlay on reconnect and tab visibility change
When the tab was hidden or the LiveView socket dropped, the server-side
bounds/scores assigns reset while the hook's scoreGrid retained its old
viewport data. Tiles Leaflet created or regenerated outside that stale
extent painted blank, leaving the overlay visibly truncated.

feat(design): apply NTMS design system tokens
Adopt the handoff design system: navy-slate surfaces with indigo-violet
accent (#6366F1 dark / #5458E3 light), Inter as the UI font, hairline
1px borders, softer corner radii. Add propagation-scale and amateur-band
CSS vars so JS hooks can pull theme-aware colors via getComputedStyle.

Polish: drop table zebra striping for hover-on-base-200 rows with
uppercase small-caps headers, bump .header to text-2xl, tighten nav
spacing with a hairline divider, fix broken text-brand -> text-primary
on the auth screens.

Wire --band-* into contacts_map_hook: resolve once at mount, re-resolve
on data-theme mutation so polylines recolor when the theme toggles.

perf(contact-map): client-side band filtering via per-band layer groups
Band toggles previously roundtripped through LiveView and rebuilt every
polyline + popup + hover handler on each click. Now the hook builds one
L.LayerGroup per band once after the initial fetch; toggling is just
addLayer/removeLayer on the map (O(bands), not O(contacts)). Checkbox
and All/None events are handled directly in the hook via delegated
document listeners — no LV roundtrip. Callsign filter still roundtrips
(debounced) since it's cross-cutting, and now iterates pre-built
polylines without recreating them.

feat(import): fire confetti when the complete banner appears
Vendors canvas-confetti 1.9.3 and wires an ImportConfetti hook on the
alert-success banner that /imports/:id already renders when
run.status == "complete". The hook uses the "realistic look" preset
from confetti.js.org and runs on mount, so it fires exactly once —
when the banner first appears.

refactor: normalize pos1/pos2 JSONB key to 'lon' everywhere
57,186 prod contacts stored pos1/pos2 with 'lng'; 1,133 used 'lon'.
Every Elixir caller carried a `pos["lon"] || pos["lng"]` fallback
— which just caused a SQL widget to silently miscount 98% of contacts
(count_narr_done used `pos1->>'lon'` directly, no fallback, so every
lng-keyed row returned NULL and failed the coverage check).

- Migration rewrites every pos1/pos2 JSONB in place, renaming 'lng' to
  'lon' and dropping 'lng'.
- Removes all 20+ `|| pos["lng"]` fallbacks across lib/, workers,
  scorer, weather, radio.ex, contact show view, and recalibrator.
- lib_ml/propagation_analyze.ex SQL now reads pos1->>'lon' directly
  (was reading 'lng' only, which would have broken after migration).
- priv/repo/import_contacts.exs one-time seed script now emits 'lon'
  with string keys, matching production shape.
- Test fixtures in 4 test files normalized to 'lon'.
- Two lng-characterization tests deleted — nonsensical post-normalize.
- Updated notebook + old import_weather script to match.
- JS hook contact_map_hook.ts TypeScript type narrowed to 'lon'.

Rename 9cm band 3456 → 3400
The US 9cm amateur allocation was cut from 3300-3500 to 3300-3450 MHz
in 2020, so 3456 (the legacy weak-signal calling frequency) is no
longer in-band. Move the canonical key to 3400, migrate existing
contacts, and keep 3456 input resolving to 3400 via the
nearest-band snap so historical ADIF/CSV logs still import cleanly.

WeatherMap: actually move the legend to top-right
The previous fix only updated the initial mount path. buildLegend gets
re-created on every layer switch via the swap at renderLayer, and that
code path still used the old isMobile-dependent bottomright position,
which clobbered the top-right placement as soon as the user clicked a
different layer.

WeatherMap: legend in top-right, description back in sidebar, play/stop, fix reload loop
Corrections to the previous weather-map pass:

* The "helper" that was supposed to live in the top-right was the
  color legend, not the layer description. Move the Leaflet legend
  control to `topright` (was `bottomright` on desktop).

* Put the layer description back in the desktop sidebar where it
  used to live, now with a "Group · Label" header above the body
  text so it matches the new style in the mockup.

* Add play/stop controls to the weather forecast timeline, ported
  from the propagation map: start plays "now" → end at 1s/step and
  loops; stop returns to the time closest to wall clock. A manual
  click interrupts playback the same way it does on /map.

* Fix the reconnect/reload loop I introduced by making mount do a
  synchronous ProfilesFile read + derive for the full 92k-point
  grid. That was pushing mount past the LV socket join timeout on
  a cold pod, which makes the LV client fall back to a full HTTP
  reload every ~20 seconds (no server-side error). Mount now uses
  the original `latest_weather_grid/1` cache-only hot path and only
  `weather_grid_at/2` (sync disk read) on user timeline scrubs.

* Clean up the playback timer in the hook's `destroyed` callback.

WeatherMap: forecast-hour timeline + top-right layer description
Two related UI changes driven by the same data:

* Move the selected-layer description out of the sidebar and into a
  dedicated top-right overlay on the map. The sidebar kept the same
  layer buttons but dropped the descriptive text; the new overlay
  shows group + layer name + description in one card. Mobile still
  shows the description in the collapsible panel since it has no
  top-right free real estate.

* Add a forecast-hour timeline bar at the bottom of the map, matching
  the propagation map. WeatherMapLive enumerates ProfilesFile on mount
  (the grid worker has been persisting f00..f18 on disk since
  commit 07ffcf5), pushes data-valid-times for the JS hook to render
  as buttons, and handles a new select_time event by reading the
  per-hour ProfilesFile on demand via Weather.weather_grid_at/2.

weather_grid_at/2 deliberately skips the GridCache write path for
non-latest hours — caching 18 × 92k rows would add ~300 MB per pod.
A ~2 MB ETF decode per scrub is fast enough for a click.

Subscribes to propagation:pipeline so the timeline picks up new
forecast hours live as they land, without waiting for the full chain
to finish.

Pin propagation legend to top-right on desktop too
The forecast timeline at the bottom of the map now spans a lot of
hours horizontally, and on wide screens it ran into the legend
that used to anchor bottom-right — covering the later forecast
hours. Move the legend to top-right on every viewport (it was
already there on mobile for the same reason).

Add play/stop controls to the propagation forecast timeline
New play and stop buttons live directly under the "Propagation
Forecast" label in the bottom timeline bar. Play starts iterating
one forecast hour per second from "Now" forward through every
loadable future hour, then loops back to "Now" and repeats. Stop
clears the interval and returns the map to "Now". A manual click
on any time button cancels playback so the user's selection isn't
overwritten by the next tick.

The existing click handler body moved into a shared
selectTimelineTime() so playback and manual clicks go through the
same cache-or-roundtrip path. A server-driven update_timeline event
(band change or new forecast hour) also tears the timer down before
overwriting timelineData underneath it.

Defer beacon coverage estimate until the toggle is flipped on
Previously RangeEstimate.estimate/1 ran on every beacon page mount,
even though the cells data was only rendered after the user flipped
the coverage toggle — a wasted bbox grid pass per page load. Start
with estimate: nil, compute lazily in handle_event("toggle_coverage")
when flipping on, and push the cells payload to the Leaflet hook via
a new load_coverage event. The JS hook no longer reads data-cells on
mount and only builds the cellLayer when the server sends it. Cached
in the socket so re-toggling is instant.

Add grid squares and weather radar toggles to the weather map
Ports the same two overlay toggles from /map to /weather:
- Maidenhead grid squares via the shared updateGridOverlay helper,
  redrawn on moveend when visible.
- ECCC GeoMet WMS radar (CONUS + Canada dBZ), lazy-created on first
  toggle with a 6-minute tile refresh timer.

Both toggles live in the desktop sidebar below the layer description
and in the mobile pulldown panel. Hook cleanup clears the radar
refresh timer on destroyed().

live_table polish: border color, control layout, row clicks, pagination
- Tailwind source(none) wasn't scanning deps, so shadcn tokens
  (border-border, bg-muted, text-foreground, ...) used by live_table
  and sutra_ui weren't generated, leaving `border` to fall back to
  currentcolor — a heavy dark border around every table in light mode.
  Add @source directives for deps/live_table/lib and deps/sutra_ui/lib.
- Drop the hardcoded width:100% on the outer .select wrapper so the
  per-page selector's Tailwind w-24 wins instead of stretching across
  the header and overlapping the search box.
- Make whole rows clickable: global click delegator in app.ts forwards
  tr clicks to the first <a href> in the row (the Actions "View" link),
  skipping inner interactive elements. cursor + hover highlight added.
- Replace the default Prev/Next footer with a daisyUI .join/.btn-based
  pager (MicrowavepropWeb.LiveTableFooter), wired up globally via
  :live_table defaults so it applies to every live_table at once.

Beacon list map, profile page polish, nav ordering fix
/beacons gains a Leaflet map above the table showing every approved
beacon as a circle marker with a popup that links to the detail page.
New BeaconsListMap JS hook (assets/js/beacons_list_map_hook.ts) walks a
data-beacons JSON payload, fitBounds over the marker set, and mirrors
the format_freq/1 integer-comma formatting used on the detail view so
the popups match the rest of the UI. Approved/on-air beacons render
green, off-air beacons render gray. BeaconLive.Index.mount/3 now
materializes the list into an assign so it can encode it into the data
attribute; the live PubSub path keeps the map in sync on
create/update/delete.

Profile (/u/:callsign) polish: drop the hero-radio, hero-signal, and
hero-information-circle icons per request, and replace the daisyUI
`avatar placeholder` wrapper with a plain flex-centered circle so the
initial letter actually lives inside the circle instead of anchored to
the top-left corner (daisyUI 5 removed the old placeholder-centering
behavior).

Navigation ordering: in the top navbar (layouts.ex) Contacts now sits
immediately before Contact Map instead of after it. All three vertical
sidebars already had them adjacent in the correct order, so only the
horizontal nav changed.

Fix /map prod crash on reconnect and redraw reach polygon on band change
Two bugs on the propagation map:

1. LiveStash reconnect path crashed the LiveView with KeyError on
   :initial_scores_json. stash_assigns/2 only persists selected_band and
   selected_time, but the recovered-socket branch returned early without
   rebuilding any of the other mount-time assigns (bands, bounds, the
   initial score JSON payload, grid/radar toggles, antenna height).
   Users on the Phoenix longpoll fallback — or anyone whose websocket
   reconnected after a brief network blip — saw a blank page and a
   server-side 500. Refactor mount/3 to always compute ephemeral assigns,
   using recovered selected_band / selected_time when present and
   falling back to defaults otherwise.

2. The propagation reach polygon shown after clicking a point never
   redrew when the user changed bands or scrubbed the forecast timeline.
   The redraw logic only ran inside the point_detail handler and was
   gated on `hull.length >= 3`, so the stale polygon from the old band
   stuck around whenever the new band had no coverage at the clicked
   point. Extract a redrawReachPolygon/0 helper on the Leaflet hook that
   always clears the previous polygon first and pulls the tier color
   from the current score at the clicked location, then call it from
   update_scores (band change + server time scrub) and the cached
   timeline-scrub path. The point_detail handler delegates to the same
   helper so the polygon stays in sync with both the score grid and the
   detail panel.

Add toggleable weather radar overlay, disable rain-scatter display
New "Weather radar" toggle in /map's control panel (mobile + desktop)
layers an ECCC GeoMet WMS composite dBZ mosaic over the propagation
heatmap. The Radar_1km_dBZ-Extrapolation layer covers CONUS + Canada at
1 km resolution, updated every ~6 minutes. Tiles are lazy-created on
first toggle so visitors who never open the panel never hit the WMS
service. Refresh is driven by a setInterval that calls setParams with a
cache-busting timestamp, matching ECCC's publish cadence.

Rain-scatter display (NEXRAD cell markers + "Rain Scatter" section in
the point-detail panel) is disabled for now. The live radar overlay
answers "is there rain near this point?" more directly, and the scatter
propagation feature needs more work before it's useful. The Elixir
start_async, handle_async, and fetch_rain_scatter helpers are removed.
The JS drawScatterMarkers / buildScatterBlock paths remain as harmless
dead code since they're guarded by a `rain_scatter` field the server no
longer sends — easy to re-enable later by restoring the payload key.

cb6cc8a6e2 Fix map forecast hours, blink, and broken prod email
- Forecast hour clicks showed only a small square of coverage because
  :preload_forecast ran at mount using a hardcoded fallback bounding box
  instead of the client's actual viewport. Move the preload trigger into
  handle_event("map_bounds", ...) so the cache always matches the
  viewport the client just asked about.

- Map overlay blinked on load/update because renderScores called Leaflet
  GridLayer.redraw(), which removes every tile element before recreating
  them. Repaint the existing tile canvases in place instead.

- Prod SMTP to mail.smtp2go.com was failing with an "unexpected_message"
  TLS alert: gen_smtp wasn't sending SNI so the wildcard cert endpoint
  rejected the handshake. Set tls: :always with explicit tls_options
  (server_name_indication, versions, verify).

578b4ede86 Serve /contacts/map payload via HTTP endpoint, parallel hydrate
- Add ContactMapController serving /api/contacts/map with pre-gzipped
  JSON from Microwaveprop.Cache. Browsers handle Content-Encoding: gzip
  natively; payload drops from 5.7 MB raw to 1.5 MB on the wire (73%).
  Cache TTL 10 min, invalidated on contact insert alongside the other
  contact-map cache keys.
- Move contact map payload out of the LiveView's initial HTML entirely.
  Shell renders with the filter chrome (count + band list); the hook
  fetches contacts from the HTTP endpoint in parallel with map init.
  This also avoids Phoenix.Socket's 64 KB frame limit (push_event would
  have required chunked transfer or a global frame size bump).
- Parallelize ContactLive.Show hydrate: five independent DB loads
  (weather, solar, hrrr_path, terrain, iemre) now run concurrently via
  Task.async + Task.await_many. Total latency drops from sum(each) to
  max(each), cutting contact show hydrate time roughly 5x.

6c334d6e18 Cache /contacts, fix map blink, make mode optional
- Add contacts_inserted_at_desc_id_desc_idx so /contacts list runs as an
  Index Scan (~0.4ms) instead of a Seq Scan + top-N heapsort (~77ms on
  58k rows)
- Add Microwaveprop.Cache: tiny ETS-backed TTL cache for memoizing
  expensive-but-stale-tolerant values
- Cache total_entries for unsearched /contacts page loads (30s TTL,
  invalidated on insert)
- Cache the entire /contacts/map payload (pre-encoded JSON + band list),
  moving load_contacts into Radio.contact_map_payload; invalidated on
  new contact insert. Mount goes from ~150-300ms to ~5ms.
- Fix /map overlay blinking on load: reuse the Leaflet GridLayer across
  renderScores calls and just redraw() against the updated ScoreGrid,
  instead of removeLayer + new layer which flashed between tile regens
- Make mode optional on submission: schema change (null: true),
  submission_changeset no longer requires it, blank strings normalise to
  nil, CSV import accepts 6-column (no mode) or 7-column layouts
- core_components .input adds a red asterisk to labels when required,
  giving users a visual cue for which fields must be filled on /submit

250709a1b2 Add more caching to make the map feel instant
- ScoreCache stores {band, valid_time} as %{{lat, lon} => score} map so
  point lookups are O(1); adds fetch_point/4 and valid_times/1
- available_valid_times/1 reads directly from ScoreCache when warm,
  falls back to DB on cold start
- point_forecast/3 iterates cached valid_times and uses fetch_point/4
  instead of hitting the DB per click
- NexradCache: node-local ETS cache of decoded n0q PNG pixel buffers
  keyed by 5-minute rounded timestamp; skips ~1-5s HTTP+decode on
  concurrent/repeat clicks within the same window
- MapLive: start_async the rain_scatter fetch so point_detail renders
  immediately with a pending marker; push rain_scatter_update when
  NEXRAD resolves
- MapLive: preload all 18 remaining forecast hours for the current
  viewport after mount/band change/propagation_updated; client caches
  them and renders timeline scrubs instantly without a server roundtrip.
  Adds set_selected_time event for fast-path state sync.
- Propagation map JS: forecastCache map + drawScatterMarkers helper,
  timeline click uses preloaded cache when available

  {band, valid_time}, subscribed to "propagation:cache" PubSub topic so
  every pod stays in sync with a single hourly compute
- scores_at/3 checks cache first, falls back to DB and populates on miss
- PropagationGridWorker warms and broadcasts the cache for each band
  after every forecast hour upsert; prunes >2h old entries
- Replace per-pixel string-keyed Map with flat Int8Array over the CONUS
  grid in propagation_map_hook.ts to eliminate allocations in the tile
  rasterization hot loop (interpolateScore / propagationReach)

18e920fe54 Fix backfill page missing partitioned table stats, fix contacts map init
Backfill page now sums child partition stats for partitioned tables
like hrrr_profiles (relkind 'p') which were excluded by the relkind
'r' filter. Contacts map defers Leaflet init to requestAnimationFrame
so the flex container has dimensions before map initialization.
