Adds a self-contained 'unused' Mix compiler task that finds public
functions in this project no caller in the project ever invokes:
- MixUnused.Analyzer: enumerates public functions across the project's
compiled BEAM files (filtered by app), walks the abstract code in
each BEAM via :beam_lib to collect every remote {Module, fun, arity}
call observed at compile time, and subtracts the call set from the
def set. Exposes :exclude (modules or MFA triples), :compile_path,
and :app options. Behaviour callbacks (@impl true and any listed
in behaviour_info(:callbacks)) and well-known entry points
(start_link, child_spec, mount, render, GenServer callbacks,
__info__, module_info, etc.) are excluded automatically.
- Mix.Tasks.Compile.Unused: a Mix.Task.Compiler that compiles the
project then asks the analyzer for unused defs. Severity is
configurable via the :unused project key; per-file exclusion of
test/ paths is on by default.
Inspired by https://github.com/hauleth/mix_unused — uses BEAM
introspection rather than a compilation tracer to avoid the
chicken-and-egg problem of recompiling the tracer module itself
during analysis.

Bug fixes surfaced during update:
- ETS cache tables were :protected (owned by Application master), preventing
the Cache GenServer from writing; change to :public + write_concurrency
so device/symbol/query caches actually work
- historical_dot_html returned Phoenix.HTML.safe tuple instead of plain string;
symbol_html is JSON-encoded for JS so it must be binary
- String.slice always returns binary so the || "Unknown error" fallback was
unreachable dead code (dialyzer guard_fail)
- Supervisor.which_children always returns a list so the _ -> branch in
database_metrics was unreachable dead code (dialyzer pattern_match_cov)
- Add @type t :: %__MODULE__{} to User schema to resolve unknown_type in user_auth spec
- Extract nested if in leader_election to fix Credo nesting depth violation
- Update .dialyzer_ignore.exs: remove 2 stale entries, add false positives for
Ecto.Multi/Gettext opaque types and Mix.Task PLT limitations
Use CF-IPLatitude/CF-IPLongitude headers instead of making HTTP calls
to ip-api.com on every page load. Eliminates ~500ms latency, external
API dependency, and flaky tests.
Also disable test server to prevent port conflicts during development.
- Add regex patterns to ignore template compilation warnings
- Ignore overloaded function spec warning for filter_packets_by_bounds
- Ignore IP geolocation patterns that are actually reachable
All dialyzer warnings are now either fixed or properly ignored.
The ignored warnings are false positives that don't represent actual bugs.
